The Uni Camp For Kids organisation
86 years on, we are still delivering on our promise of showing kids in need a pathway to a better future.
Our mission is simple. Bring joy, happiness and smiles to every single one of the children and volunteers involved in our charity. We do this through fundraising all year to ensure picnics and camps are able to occur and we are able to conduct all the amazing activities we have planned.
The executive committee
The President over-sees and manages the running of the organisation and the committee. Ensuring correct procedures are followed in the operations of the year, according to the organisations constitution and are at the forefront of planning Uni Camp for Kids main event of the 3 x 1-week long Summer Camps.
Vice-President responsibilities primarily include supporting the President and other committee members as well as volunteer management. The Vice-President is also responsible for planning/running a Picnic and other fundraising events such as the Annual Cocktail Night.
The primary role of Secretary is to ensure that as many children as possible have the opportunity attend our Picnics and Camps. As a result, they are the main point of contact between the organisation and children’s social workers and carers. The Secretary often works tirelessly and consistently puts the needs of others above their own, while simultaneously maintaining a high GPA, a wicked sense of humour, and strong sense of style.
The Treasurer budgets the charity’s expenses and income, ensures all of the financial control protocols are followed and financial documents are kept in order and updated with third parties. It requires access to a calculator, incredible organisation skills and the ability to work independently.
In addition to general committee responsibilities, the publicity officer role includes creating content for and managing all Uni Camp for Kids’ social media accounts and the website. This includes creating notices and updates for each event online as well as informing volunteers of any important upcoming information needed to be involved with Uni Camp for Kids.
Their role includes general committee responsibilities as well as a main focus on proactively applying for grants and planning fundraising opportunities including events and sponsorships. Uni Camp for Kids relies on fundraising efforts in order to be able to run our events at no cost to the children or their carers.
